Growing up in Charlottesville amongst the Confederacy’s systemic artistic and educational marketing efforts, Zyahna’s work led her to reclaim spaces connected to racial trauma.

AT 19, STATUES ACROSS THE WORLD ARE COMING DOWN, SHE CONTINUES TO INVEST IN THE NEXT-GEN OF ORGANIZERS

As a sophomore at UVA, she sits on local committees, commissions, and boards across the city and university to ensure Black youth experiences are invested in with resources.
